Vinay Rai (born 18 September 1979) is an actor who has appeared in prominent Tamil films as well as modelling and catwalking in noted fashion shows. His mother tongue is tulu
Vinay is also a keen rugby player, he has represented India and Bangalore, he was part of the Indian squad that toured Bahrain in 2001. He has played for Bangalore in various tournaments, since making his debut in 1999.
Vinay was originally a ramp model in Bangalore, but since has now made his debut as an actor in director Jeeva's Unnale Unnale co-starring Sadha and Tanisha Mukherjee.The film became a large success upon release and opened up more acting offers for Vinay.
Since his debut film, he has appeared in a Telugu language film, Vaana, which flopped at the box-office and a critically successful Tamil film, in Jayamkondaan, for which his performance was acclaimed.Rai is currently shooting for two Tamil language films, Nootrukku Nooru and Modhi Vilayadu.
